Maddie Mondi, B.S., is a master’s-level practicum student at Karima Mental Health Services. She is pursuing her master’s degree in Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health at Pennsylvania Western University-California. Maddie also holds a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Fitness and was named to the Dean’s List during the 2025–2026 academic year.
Before beginning her counseling training, Maddie worked as a nutritionist with WIC, supporting pregnant women and families with children up to age five. Her work in a community-based setting strengthened her communication skills, empathy, and commitment to supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Maddie was drawn to counseling through her genuine interest in listening to others and understanding their life experiences. She values compassion, authenticity, warmth, humor, integrity, and patience. As she develops her clinical approach, she is interested in learning trauma-informed and evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Motivational Interviewing. Maddie hopes future clients will experience her as safe, respectful, collaborative, and nonjudgmental.
Outside of her professional training, Maddie enjoys running, writing, painting, working out, listening to music, and spending time outdoors. She also enjoys coffee, thrifting, and using physical activity and mindfulness to maintain balance.
Maddie is currently completing her practicum training and is not providing therapy or accepting clients. She is anticipated to begin accepting clients as a supervised intern in January 2027. Her practicum and future internship training will be completed under the supervision of Dr. Nour Bussard.
